The Harris Museum, Preston
The Harris Museum in Preston was undergoing a £16 million restoration, reopening in 2025.
The campaign needed to attract University of Lancashire students aged 18-25, while showcasing the transformation into a modern, interactive cultural space.
Museum marketing usually plays it safe with heritage tones, classical fonts or minimal white space however I didn't think this would stop a student in their tracks.
The decision was to make it unmissable. Vibrant pinks, yellows and orange clash with the monochrome Harris building, heritage meets modern. The collage technique using paint and digital layering creates handmade energy rather than corporate polish. Geometric patterns and mis-matched typography makes the identity bold and impossible to miss.
This was a design school project based on the real Harris restoration. The Harris holds special significance for me as it's where I exhibited my jewellery as a UCLan student, so I knew exactly who this campaign needed to speak to.
